Evenings at Sfilztalpi
After the daytime browse softens, Sfilztalpi keeps the lights warm for small gatherings — never a stadium event, always a room you can still hear yourself think in.
We schedule evenings a few times each month. Some nights are reading circles with a shared short text; others are conversations with a visiting writer or translator. Occasionally we host a listening night where pages are read aloud and the discussion stays brief.
Seats are limited so the Sfilztalpi table does not turn into rows of chairs. If you want a place, email us early with the evening title in the subject line. We confirm by reply and hold the seat until fifteen minutes after start.
Usually first Thursday · 19:30
Slow circle
A short shared text, printed or sold in-room. Bring a pencil. Sfilztalpi facilitates lightly; the circle does the rest. Suitable for readers who like to listen as much as speak.
Mid-month · 20:00
Author or translator hour
A conversation of about forty-five minutes, then questions. Books related to the guest stay on the front table that week. Arrive a little early if you want a signed copy when available.
Occasional Friday · from 18:00
Open pages
A quieter format: soft music off, phones down, and an hour of independent reading in the room. Sfilztalpi staff keep the shelves open; you choose your own pace.
Propose an evening
If you lead a small book club, translation group, or reading practice that fits an independent bookstore tone, write to [email protected]. Tell us the format, expected headcount, and preferred week. We will say honestly whether Sfilztalpi’s room can hold it.
Evenings are free to attend unless a guest event notes a small cover for printed materials. Purchases from the shelves are always welcome, never required for a seat.
